Patterned surfaces; the easy approach

The top pattern was made with crumpled newsprint 
to resemble a floral design.




The bottom texture was achieved with 3
values of acrylic paint splattered with  a 
toothbrush to achieve the 
resemblance to graniteware.

First acrylic landscapes...ever!




Using only 4 colors + white, 
the class followed Jeanie LeCompte's demonstration
(see below)
on how to simplify and layer the acrylics;
allowing ample drying time between layers.


Blue, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre +
white can make quite a colorful scene!
