Amy in Rose (in progress)
![]() |
| Today 4 members of the LAG, Tony & Sandra Guzzo, Joanne Ramsey, Jeanie Schlump and a guest, Adam Adkison painted our model during a 2-hour session. This is Jeanie Schlump's acrylic in progress. Because no one finished, we took some reference photos and will complete the portrait from a photo-reference shot. Live observation of the model is always good practice and preferable to copying photos. |

Ghana Male Final
Ghana Male
3 weeks later the LAG invited our model from Ghana back for another 2 hour portrait session. Jeanie Schlump picked up where she had left off on this acrylic portrait by adjusting the form of the man and by building colors and values to describe his form in more detail.

LAG had a live model pose last month for our usual 2 hour session. This is the acrylic underpainting created by Jeanie Schlump on a sheet of canvas pad. Live models are provided free of charge once a month to LAG members.

LAG Visits UW Visual Arts Center
Please note the natural light. Spot lights above model or still life can be turned on while entire room is blackened out and individual stations can be illuminated for painting/drawing students (see upper right).

Both old beds and lithostones have been saved and are in use as well as contemporary equipment. I was very impressed that the UW Art Department had the foresight to not discard extremely usable pieces of equipment just because of their age.

Once again, you can see the abundance of natural light which enters the building through the thermopaned windows.
